Numerous say they adore animals, but 12-12 months-old Vanessa Price places her funds the place her mouth is.
The Quality 6 university student at Coldwater General public College recently donated all her 12th birthday celebration dollars and items to the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre.
“I requested for presents for animals to donate to the SPCA for the reason that I didn’t want any presents for myself. I do not want something,” Value reported.
Her donation was $140 in addition treats and toys for cats and canines at the West Road North shelter.
Natalie Harris, community outreach coordinator for the Orillia animal shelter, claimed she — and the animals — appreciated the gifts.

This is the second time Selling price has donated her birthday funds to an animal shelter. Right before COVID, she donated birthday cash to the Ontario SPCA Midland and District Animal Centre in Port McNicoll.

Staff at the Orillia Animal Centre invited Price and her friends to come for a tour the working day soon after her birthday and produced it distinctive for her by hanging a Satisfied 12th Birthday banner, giving her helium balloons and cupcakes to her and her good friends.
“She arrived in and I gave her, her close friends and her mom a tour and I requested her why she donated and she reported ‘I have all the presents I require,’” reported Harris.
“It’s so wonderful to see our younger individuals who not only want to donate to us, but it was a passion for her to come in and see the animals and study about their stories. The extra we can share about the Ontario SPCA, the better. They are our future animal caretakers,” explained Harris.
Value reported she is joyful that the centre will use her donation to aid animals in the shelter.
“I love animals,” she said with a major smile.
All donations are very important since OSPCA shelters are non-earnings organizations, not funded by governing administration, said Harris.
“All the perform we do is funded by donations. Each greenback counts.”
The cash will go toward specialised toys for animals after they come into the shelter and are assessed for their wants, these types of as treats to boost dental wellness.
Price’s grandmother, Anne Price tag, said she was very pleased of her granddaughter.
